Bungraze

Flatbread Hamburgers

Bungraze, located in Little Tokyo, is a casual burger specialty shop known for using freshly baked flatbread buns made daily. The bread, baked fresh upon ordering, adds a warm and chewy texture when combined with the fillings, and the diverse burger menu made with only fresh ingredients ranges from classic combinations to unique ones. It’s a simple meal, but thanks to the thoughtfully prepared menu, it’s a place where anyone can enjoy without hesitation.

During this visit, I ordered the BBQ Burger, Sungraze Burger, and sides of Garlic Parmesan Fries and Truffle Curry Fries. I was able to enjoy a variety of flavors, from the sweet and rich BBQ sauce burger to the uniquely characterized menu items, along with fries seasoned to perfection. Pairing the burgers with the sides made for a filling meal, and it was a combination that truly showcased Bungraze’s casual yet heartfelt charm.

The BBQ Burger was a delightful blend of salty and sweet flavors that filled my mouth. The addition of crispy onion rings added a fun texture, and the soft patty complemented it perfectly, creating a richer taste. The sauce tied all the flavors together neatly, and the freshly baked flatbread bun was lightly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, making it enjoyable until the last bite. The Sungraze Burger had a hearty appearance from the start. The salty bacon added depth to the savory patty, and the egg on top wrapped the overall flavor in a smooth embrace. Especially, the richness released when the yolk burst was felt intensely with every bite, providing satisfaction beyond a simple burger.

The Garlic Parmesan Fries featured freshly fried crispy potatoes combined with fragrant garlic and savory Parmesan cheese. With each bite, the crispy texture and the subtle cheese flavor spread, making them a great match for both snacking and pairing with the burger. Notably, the garlic flavor was not overpowering, allowing for a guilt-free enjoyment until the end. The Truffle Curry Fries had a unique appeal with the curry flavor added to the freshly fried fries, providing an exotic experience with every bite. The subtly aromatic spices blended well with the salty fries, allowing for a different taste compared to regular fries. It was a satisfying side dish that was not overly stimulating yet offered a new combination.
