Horang Tea House

A Modern Tea House for Korean Tea, Horang Tea House

Horang Tea House, which recently opened in LA Koreatown, is a tea house that modernizes the diverse tea culture of Korea. The modern interior, accented with orange, adds warmth to the space, creating a relaxing atmosphere perfect for slowly sipping a cup of tea.

The menu is meticulously divided into categories such as Daily Brew, Wellness Brew, Korean Classics, Fruit Blending Teas, and Korean Latte. Cards featuring the characteristics of each tea are hung on the walls, designed like postcards that can be taken home as a souvenir, adding a unique charm to the place. There’s an added joy in discovering each tea you try.

I started with teas that are light and easy to enjoy like water. The barley corn tea stands out with its nutty and clean flavor, making it perfect for a refreshing drink on a hot day, while the beet tea offers a subtle sweetness and smooth taste that is easy on the palate. The jack bean tea has a savory yet clean taste that is impressive. Additionally, the sweet and sour omija tea and the peach blossom kombucha, topped with a hint of carbonation and rich peach aroma, refresh the palate.

In the latte category, the uniqueness is even more pronounced. The mugwort latte combines the distinctive subtle aroma and nutty flavor of mugwort, making it an intriguing option for those who usually enjoy matcha drinks. It’s a must-try for mugwort lovers. The hojicha latte also offers a deep and rich nuttiness that blends comfortably with the smooth milk.
