Le Kream

Cube Shaped Croissants

Located on the 3rd floor of Ktown Plaza, Le Kream’s signature dish is the cube-shaped croissant, which can be enjoyed with a variety of drinks. Thanks to its unique visuals and diverse flavors, it enhances dessert time significantly. The store is structured so that orders are placed on the 1st floor and customers can enjoy their treats on the 2nd floor, which is comfortably decorated for a relaxing experience. Additionally, there are ample outdoor seating options, making it perfect for enjoying desserts in an open space.

During this visit, I chose a variety of items from Le Kream’s menu. The cube croissants came in four flavors: Milk, Ube, Strawberry, and Matcha, allowing me to compare their unique charms. I also ordered drinks including Dirty Matcha Kream Spanner, Pistachio Kream Spanner, Sweet Corn Kream Spanner, and Green Grape Ade for a delightful experience. For dessert, I added a Basque Cheese Cake, allowing me to experience the sweet and diverse combinations that Le Kream offers all in one sitting.

The cube croissant, which garnered anticipation from its visuals, was adorned with differently colored creams and plating for each flavor, making it easy to identify them at a glance. First, the Milk flavor was the most basic among the four, but its simplicity allowed the croissant’s charm to shine through. The cream was smooth with a subtle sweetness reminiscent of condensed milk, making it neither boring nor overwhelming, and the flaky layers of the croissant provided a clean and harmonious taste. While it initially seemed simple, I found myself reaching for it often, reminding me of the power of basics. The Ube flavor, typically very sweet, was attractively balanced here with just the right amount of sweetness and a nutty, smooth flavor that spread nicely, and its purple hue added a unique visual appeal.

The Strawberry flavor combined the refreshing fruit aroma with sweet cream, resulting in a clean and universally enjoyable taste. The initial flavor was tangy and sweet but not overly heavy, allowing for a clean finish, and the fruit’s freshness paired well with the crispy croissant. The Matcha flavor had a denser cream texture compared to the others, enhancing the distinct bitterness of matcha, which blended beautifully with the flaky croissant to deliver a deep flavor. The layers of sweetness and bitterness lingered with each bite, making it a flavor I would highly recommend for matcha lovers. Each of the four flavors had its own charm, but Milk and Matcha were particularly impressive. Milk showcased the basic simplicity and crispness of the croissant best, while Matcha offered a distinct flavor with its rich cream and bitter notes.

The Dirty Matcha Kream Spanner features a rich matcha topped with espresso, delivering a bitter yet robust flavor from the very first sip. The deep taste of matcha harmonizes beautifully with the nutty nuances of coffee, layered together, while the cream on top adds a smooth finish, balancing the overall experience. It was a satisfying drink for anyone who enjoys both matcha and coffee. The Pistachio Kream Spanner was an attractive beverage with a nutty yet subtle pistachio aroma. The sweet and nutty flavors were conveyed in a creamy manner, providing a dessert-like satisfaction, and the cream on top blended smoothly in the mouth. The unique luxury of pistachio was alive, making it particularly recommended for those who love nutty flavors.

The Sweet Corn Kream Spanner showcased a sweet and nutty corn flavor that blended with the cream, presenting a unique yet familiar taste. The gentle sweetness flowed smoothly, leaving a nutty aftertaste of corn that made it feel like enjoying a dessert. It was a good choice for those looking for a distinctive drink. The Green Grape Ade was the most refreshing and light option among the four beverages. The crisp and cool taste of green grapes cleansed the palate, pairing well with buttery croissants and rich creamy drinks. Especially since the owner personally introduced it as a popular menu item, I understood why after just one sip. Thanks to its sweet yet refreshing finish, it played a role in balancing the overall experience, making it a drink that anyone could enjoy without hesitation. Lastly, the Basque Cheese Cake had a slightly charred exterior that exuded a rich cheese aroma, while the inside was moist and had a delightful texture. With one bite, the distinct and creamy taste of cheese spread across the palate, followed by a subtle sweetness, allowing for a deep yet not heavy flavor experience. Pairing it with a cube croissant or a drink full of cream created a nice balance of flavors, enriching the overall dessert time.
