A Journey in Every Sip

Located in Palos Verdes, Misc. Coffee is a café where you can enjoy a variety of coffees and specialty drinks in a warm and cozy atmosphere. From classic coffee menus like lattes and espressos to signature drinks and pastries that reflect the café’s unique personality, it is a great space to relax and enjoy some leisure time. Thanks to its bright and friendly mood, it is a place where anyone can comfortably enjoy their time, making it a perfect café to visit when you want to enjoy coffee and desserts in the Palos Verdes area.

We visited around 9:30 AM, and despite it being early in the morning, many people were already gathered, creating a bustling atmosphere. This gave the impression that the café is well-loved by the local residents. On that day, we tried the Toffee Nut Cloud, Yuzu Espresso Tonic, and Ube Matcha Latte for drinks, and for pastries, we selected the Savory Danish and Kouign Amann.

The Toffee Nut Cloud provided a warm feeling from the very first sip, with rich caramel and nutty aromas filling the mouth. The sweetness was not overwhelming but subtly lingered, leaving a clean aftertaste, and the soft cream on top enhanced the flavor when combined with the latte. Its charm, sitting somewhere between coffee and dessert, made it enjoyable on its own or paired well with pastries. The Yuzu Espresso Tonic delivered the refreshing scent of yuzu and the fizzy sensation of carbonation first, followed by the deep flavor of espresso, showcasing a bright yet substantial balance. It was especially suitable for a morning or lunchtime pick-me-up, and I would recommend it for those who prefer lighter drinks. The Ube Matcha Latte, with its captivating purple hue, boasted a unique flavor as striking as its appearance. The nutty and subtly sweet taste of ube was felt first, followed by the characteristic bitterness of matcha, creating an overall balance. The two ingredients blended smoothly, making it a drink that felt familiar yet distinct, enjoyable without any burden.

The Savory Danish had a crispy exterior while maintaining a moist interior, providing a delightful contrast in texture. Its savory yet subtly nutty flavor made it a great accompaniment to sweet drinks or coffee. It was hearty enough to serve as a dessert or a light brunch option. The Kouign Amann featured layers of pastry with melted sugar in between, creating caramelized parts that were crispy and sweet. The contrast between the crunchy exterior and chewy interior allowed for a deep flavor experience with each bite. The gentle sweetness and buttery flavor lingered in the mouth, making it an excellent dessert to enjoy with a cup of coffee.
