Classic Italian-American Comfort Dishes
Located inside the Hilton Arcadia in Arcadia, 19Seventy at the Ovalo is a hotel restaurant where you can enjoy classic Italian-American comfort food in a modern way. The modern yet sophisticated space creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, making it a great fit for various moods from brunch to dinner. Thanks to its calm and luxurious ambiance, it is an excellent place for dates, family gatherings, or special meals.
During this visit, I enjoyed Carpaccio di Polpo, Watermelon in Chicory, Short Rib & Pappardelle, Melontini, Kiwi Breeze, and for dessert, New York Cheesecake. The variety of dishes, from appetizers made with fresh ingredients to mains, cocktails, and desserts, made it easy to enjoy several menu items together. Additionally, there were various signature cocktails that paired well with the meal, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The most impressive dish was the Short Rib & Pappardelle. Watching the process of it being finished at the table was a delight, making the wait for the meal enjoyable, and the performance of finishing the pasta right in front of me made it a special experience. The wide pappardelle noodles were perfectly coated with creamy Alfredo and Aged Beurre Blanc sauces, and the long-braised short rib was so tender that it fell apart, creating a wonderful harmony with the pasta. The rich sauce, tender meat, and chewy pasta came together in perfect balance, allowing me to enjoy every last bite.
The Carpaccio di Polpo was delightful, as the octopus maintained a tender texture without being tough, making it easy to enjoy and allowing the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through. The Watermelon in Chicory was a harmonious blend of sweet watermelon and fresh vegetables, perfect for whetting the appetite before the meal, and overall, it left a refreshing impression. The accompanying vegetables were also fresh, adding to the satisfaction. The Melontini and Kiwi Breeze were cocktails that showcased the vibrant flavors of the fruits, and the performance involving bubbles and smoke added a visual delight. Finally, the New York Cheesecake was notable for its rich cheese flavor and smooth texture, complemented by the strawberry jam underneath, which added a subtle sweetness and tartness. Enjoying it with the accompanying gelato made for a delightful dessert that perfectly wrapped up the meal with a variety of flavors and textures.
