Handcrafted Specialty Drinks & Teas
On a rainy day, Formosa Aroma in Temple City was a space that instantly warmed my mood with the rich aroma of tea as soon as I stepped inside. Seeing a steady stream of customers regardless of the weather made it easy to understand why this place is loved by so many.

During this visit, I got to sample a variety of Formosa Aroma’s signature menu items, each with its own distinct personality while still highlighting the charm of the tea base. This place offers a wide range of tea beverages, allowing for detailed customization of tea base, dairy, toppings, and foam according to personal preference, which was quite impressive. This time, I ordered Cream Brulee Milk Tea, Hojicha Pudding Iron Buddha Milk Tea, Cremant de Jasmine, and Matcha Pudding Milk Tea, along with Formosa Umeyaki, which is perfect for enjoying as a dessert, to experience various combinations.

The first drink I tasted, Cream Brulee Milk Tea, had a generous layer of crème brûlée on top of smooth milk tea, adding a rich and nutty flavor. It was sweet but not heavy, allowing for a balanced enjoyment until the last sip. Hojicha Pudding Iron Buddha Milk Tea combined the appealing roasted aroma of hojicha with the deep flavor of oolong, providing a simultaneous experience of nuttiness and cleanliness with every sip. The pudding inside added a soft texture, enhancing the overall satisfaction. Cremant de Jasmine was a sparkling tea with a subtle jasmine aroma and refreshing carbonation, making it a light and invigorating choice. The gently spreading floral scent and the bubbly freshness were harmonious, making it the perfect selection when you want something lighter than milk tea.
Finally, the Matcha Pudding Milk Tea featured a combination of rich matcha pudding and smooth milk tea, where the bitterness of the matcha pudding harmonized beautifully with the sweet softness of the milk tea. The intense aroma and flavor of matcha lingered until the end, making it a menu item that matcha lovers would particularly enjoy. The Formosa Umeyaki I ordered alongside was a light dessert that pairs well with tea beverages, characterized by a crispy exterior and moist interior. Taking a bite releases sweetness and a subtle flavor that balances naturally with the tea, making it a great accompaniment to enjoy between sips. Especially, it’s a good option to pair with lighter desserts rather than heavier ones, so I recommend ordering it when you visit.
