A Satisfying Chinese Meal
Located in Redondo Beach, Juicy Dumpling Factory is a casual restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of dim sum, dumplings, and Chinese dishes without breaking the bank. I decided to visit the Redondo Beach location this time, recalling a satisfying meal from a previous visit to another branch, and this place was also bustling with customers throughout the meal time. They offered a wide range of dim sum and dumplings, as well as noodles, fried rice, and main dishes, making it a great spot for sharing multiple dishes together.

During this visit, we ordered a variety of dishes starting with Sesame Balls and BBQ Pork Buns, followed by Spare Ribs with Mashed Garlic, Broccoli with Beef, Orange Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Shrimp & Pork Spicy Wonton. The menu offered a diverse selection from dim sum to main dishes and fried rice, allowing us to enjoy a satisfying meal reminiscent of a Chinese home-cooked feast while sharing multiple dishes.

Sesame Balls and BBQ Pork Buns were excellent starters for the meal. The Sesame Balls had a crispy exterior with a chewy interior, and the nutty flavor of sesame made them enjoyable without being heavy. The BBQ Pork Buns were one of the most memorable dishes from my last visit to another branch, so I ordered them again this time, and they did not disappoint with their soft bun filled with sweet and savory BBQ Pork. The Spare Ribs with Mashed Garlic featured tender ribs generously topped with minced garlic, providing a rich umami flavor, and the Black Beans added depth to the overall taste. Broccoli with Beef was also satisfying as the fresh broccoli and tender beef complemented each other well as a main dish.
Orange Chicken was a delightful dish with crispy fried chicken coated in a sweet and tangy sauce, making it a crowd-pleaser. The Shrimp Fried Rice had a light seasoning that was impressive, and it paired well with the other dishes. The Shrimp & Pork Spicy Wonton burst with juice as soon as you took a bite, and the flavors of shrimp and pork harmonized beautifully, allowing for a satisfying experience until the very end.

Handmade Dumplings & Comforting Chinese Dishes
Juicy Dumpling Factory, located in Cypress and Huntington Beach, is a place where you can enjoy a variety of Chinese dishes centered around dumplings, just as the name suggests. This time, I visited the Cypress location, which was spacious and neatly organized, with plenty of tables, making it a great place to enjoy a meal comfortably.

The menu featured a variety of appetizing dishes, and we ordered mainly dumpling options such as Juicy Pork Dumplings, Chive/Shrimp & Pork Pan Fried Dumplings, and BBQ Pork Bun. Additionally, we chose Mapo Tofu, Dan Dan Noodle, Poached Prime Beef in Hot Chili Oil, and Beef Roll to enjoy a diverse range of dishes.

The first dish we tried, Juicy Pork Dumplings, had a slightly thick dumpling skin, yet it maintained a chewy texture. When you take a bite, the juices burst forth, and the flavor spreads widely. Although it’s a basic menu item, it was one of the most satisfying dishes. The Chive/Shrimp & Pork Pan Fried Dumplings were impressive as they retained their juiciness inside despite being fried. The outside was crispy while the inside was moist, creating a delightful contrast in texture that kept us reaching for more. The BBQ Pork Bun was particularly notable for its bread. It wrapped around softly while keeping the inside moist, and the subtle sweetness blended naturally with the barbecue pork. The sweet and cozy texture felt great when you took a bite.
Mapo Tofu had a style where the aroma of chili oil and spices was slightly noticeable, spreading flavor gently rather than being overly stimulating. The tofu was moist and soft, and the seasoning was not excessive, making it easy to enjoy without any burden. Dan Dan Noodle was not thick but rather a moist type with a slight broth. The nuttiness and mild spiciness were well balanced, making it easy to enjoy, and the chewy noodles absorbed the sauce well, allowing for a satisfying experience. Poached Prime Beef in Hot Chili Oil was a dish that had a slight spiciness while delivering a deep umami flavor. The tender beef and the richly flavored broth harmonized beautifully, making it the dish I reached for the most and one I would especially recommend. The Beef Roll featured thinly sliced beef, cucumber, and a subtly flavored sauce wrapped like a tortilla, providing a variety of textures in one bite. The contrast between the tender beef and the crisp cucumber was harmonious, and overall, it was a clean-tasting dish that could be enjoyed without feeling greasy or heavy, making it a great side to accompany the other dishes.
