Cinnamoroll x Okayama Kobo Bakery & Cafe
Okayama Kobo Bakery & Cafe, newly opened in Laguna Niguel, is a space where you can enjoy a variety of breads and beverages centered around Japanese-style bakery. Currently, it is showcasing a collaboration with Cinnamoroll x Okayama Kobo Bakery & Cafe. This collaboration runs from March 7 to May 31, featuring new desserts and drinks, as well as limited-edition goods. The bright and cute atmosphere has attracted many visitors since its opening, creating a lively ambiance, and there was a noticeable interest with lines forming.
During this visit, I ordered Cinnamoroll Blueberry Bread, Mentai Salt & Butter Roll, Matcha Mochi Anpan, Cheese Jalapeno Panini, Kobo Kuma, and Cheese Spicy Curry Pan, along with Cinnamoroll Blueberry Iced Tea Lemonade and Cinnamoroll Blueberry White Chocolate Cold Brew. With a variety of breads on display, it was fun to choose, and overall, the soft and light texture unique to Japanese bakeries was impressive.
Cinnamoroll Blueberry Bread had a soft texture with a subtle blueberry flavor, making it sweet and enjoyable. The Mentai Salt & Butter Roll combined the salty mentaiko with butter harmoniously. The Matcha Mochi Anpan featured sweet red bean paste and chewy mochi, providing a delightful texture, while the Cheese Spicy Curry Pan had a crispy exterior with rich curry and cheese inside, offering a more substantial flavor. The Cheese Jalapeno Panini added a slightly spicy note, contrasting with the other menu items, and Kobo Kuma was a light and enjoyable option with its soft texture and cute appearance.
For drinks, I chose items from the Cinnamoroll collaboration menu. The Blueberry Iced Tea Lemonade mixed iced Assam tea with lemonade infused with blueberry flavor, making it refreshing and light. The fruitiness was a perfect match for enjoying with desserts without being overwhelming. The Blueberry White Chocolate Cold Brew featured blueberry and white chocolate atop cold brew coffee, topped with blueberry cream cheese foam, providing a smooth and sweet flavor that blended well with the bitterness of the coffee. Overall, the drinks had different textures that complemented each other, making them great pairings with the desserts.

A Charming Japanese Bakery & Cafe
Okayama Kobo Bakery & Cafe, located in Anaheim and LA, is a cafe where you can enjoy a variety of Japanese-style breads and beverages. It is quite popular, so there are usually many people every time you visit, but fortunately, the lines move quickly, so you don’t have to wait long.
Inside the bakery, there are many delicious-looking breads that always make it hard to choose what to get. For those who are indecisive, there is a list of popular menu items on the wall, which is a great help in making a selection. We visit this place often, and personally, the bread I would recommend the most is the Salt & Butter Roll. I have tried salt bread at other places, but this Salt & Butter Roll was the best I have ever had. If you heat it in the microwave for about 15 seconds, you can enjoy it like freshly baked bread, and the perfect saltiness combined with the soft butter inside the roll pairs wonderfully with the chewy bread. It truly deserves its spot as the number one popular menu item.
Among the breads I have tried, I would also recommend the Japanini, French Toast, Tomato Basil Salt & Butter, and White Milk Cream, which were particularly delicious. Each bread has its own unique characteristics, allowing you to enjoy a variety of flavors depending on your mood. The Japanini was mistakenly given to me by a staff member, but after trying it by chance, I fell in love with it and now it’s a must-buy every time I go. It’s a familiar taste, but it’s so good that I find myself coming back for it often. Additionally, there are various breads with chocolate, matcha, and red bean, so you can choose one that suits your taste. Also, don’t miss out on the Banana Cream Matcha Latte, which features a smooth banana cream that melts in your mouth, offering a sweet and nutty flavor, while the rich bitterness of the matcha gently envelops it, creating a perfect balance. It’s a drink I highly recommend. The combination of banana and matcha is unique and appealing, making it a drink I always remember to order.
When you finish selecting your breads, they pack them in a cute box with a character drawn on it. While the cute character on the box is eye-catching, the more useful aspect is that it includes storage and reheating instructions based on the type of bread. Thanks to this, I was able to enjoy the bread fresh and delicious at home. This thoughtful consideration made for a more satisfying experience.
