A Charming New Coffee Shop in Melrose
Recently opened in Melrose, Olive and James Cafe Tea offers a warm and cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy a variety of coffees, matcha, teas, and pastries, making it a favorite among many.
We visited at the opening time of 10 AM on Sunday, and the cafe was already filled with people enjoying their coffee. We thought it might take a while to place our order, but thanks to the friendly explanations and quick responses, we were able to finish our order sooner than expected.
We ordered a Matcha Latte, Tiramisu Latte, Basque Cheesecake, and Chocolate Croissant. First, the Matcha Latte had a subtle green tea aroma and rich flavor that blended beautifully with the smooth cream, allowing us to savor the harmony of sweetness and nuttiness with every sip. Notably, the Matcha Latte could be ordered sweetened or unsweetened; I chose unsweetened and added cream, which resulted in a gentle sweetness that perfectly matched my taste. The Tiramisu Latte combined smooth espresso with creamy milk, and thanks to the cocoa powder sprinkled on top, it felt like drinking a tiramisu cake. The Tiramisu Latte was also not overly sweet, making it enjoyable throughout.
Finally, the Basque Cheesecake offered a rich and creamy cheese flavor, while the Chocolate Croissant, though small in size, had a crispy exterior and moist interior, allowing us to enjoy the intense sweetness from the abundant chocolate. Personally, I found the Chocolate Croissant so delicious that I highly recommend trying it.
