Greek Food with a Californian twist
Located in Sawtelle, Petros Grill is a casual dining space that presents Greek cuisine with a Californian twist. The restaurant was neatly organized, and the warm yellow lighting created a comfortable atmosphere overall. While the seating is primarily indoors, there is also a small outdoor seating area, making it easy to stop by for a meal.
During this visit, we ordered Filet Mignon Skewers, Grilled Lamb Chops, Petros Dip Combo, and Octopus. The Grilled Specialties menu allowed us to choose between rice and fries, so we decided to order both. The Filet Mignon Skewers were enjoyed with rice, and the tender texture combined beautifully with the subtle smoky flavor from the grill, allowing the meat’s natural taste to shine through without being overly seasoned. The Grilled Lamb Chops were ordered with fries, and their unique flavor was not overpowering, making them easy to enjoy. The outside was slightly crispy while the inside was moist, creating an impressive contrast in texture.
The Petros Dip Combo consisted of Hummus, Tzatziki, and Petros Dip, served with warm Pita. Each dip showcased distinct personalities without being overwhelming, and their smooth textures and refreshing flavors made them enjoyable. Pairing them with warm Pita created a seamless combination that enhanced the overall dining experience. The Octopus was served tossed in Garlic Aioli sauce, and it could be enjoyed with the accompanying Hummus for another delightful combination. The texture was impressive, maintaining a suitable firmness without being tough, and the grill’s flavor combined with the sauce’s creaminess made for a clean finish.

The flow between the grill menu, dips, and sides was naturally connected, allowing for a relaxed enjoyment, and it felt like a space that showcased a casual yet stable level of quality.
