Handmade Fresh Dumplings
Located in Orange, Yum Dumpling is a place where you can enjoy a variety of Chinese dishes, including handmade dumplings, in a casual atmosphere without any pressure. From the moment it opened, the restaurant was filled with customers, creating a lively vibe, and the overall comfortable atmosphere made it a great spot for a light meal.
On this day, we ordered a variety of dishes including Siu Mai, Signature Flavored Beef Noodle, Pan Fried Pork Bun, as well as Honey Walnut Shrimp and House Special Shrimp with Fried Garlic. The menu was broad, ranging from dim sum to noodle dishes and seafood, making it perfect for sharing.
In particular, the Siu Mai here was a style I had never tasted before, using glutinous rice as the main ingredient, which made the texture even more impressive than typical shumai. The filling was moist while maintaining a light flavor, making it easy to enjoy alongside various dishes. The Pan Fried Pork Bun had a crispy exterior and juicy filling, and with each bite, the flavor of the meat spread naturally, providing a satisfying contrast in texture.
The Signature Flavored Beef Noodle was notable for its generous broth, with chewy noodles that soaked up the soup well, allowing for a stable enjoyment with each bite. The broth had a rich umami flavor that was not overwhelming, blending naturally with the meat and noodles, leaving a clean finish overall. The Honey Walnut Shrimp had a combination of sweet sauce and crispy shrimp that was familiar yet comforting, making it a dish that kept drawing our hands back to the table, while the House Special Shrimp with Fried Garlic had a strong flavor of fried garlic with a subtle spiciness that paired well with rice or noodles. Overall, each dish was generously portioned, making it highly satisfying for sharing among several people.
