Cozy Bakery Featuring Chocolate Croissant
Artisanal Goods by CAR, located in Pasadena, is a café and bakery that offers a variety of pastries and beverages, famous especially for its chocolate croissants and chocolate drinks.

We arrived 15 minutes before opening, and there was already a long line of people waiting for the café to open. The place had plenty of indoor and outdoor tables, and we could see the bakers making bread in an open pastry kitchen style. While waiting for our turn, the rich and sweet aroma of the pastries filled the air, heightening our anticipation even before we took a bite.

We chose a variety of pastries including the Chocolate Croissant, Turkey Ham/Gruyere, Berry Danish, Ricotta Pesto, Lemon Berry Danish, and Monkey Bread, and ordered Choco-spresso and Chocolate Latte as our drinks. First of all, both the Choco-spresso and Chocolate Latte lived up to the café’s reputation for chocolate. The Choco-spresso featured a rich espresso combined with deep, rich chocolate, delivering an intense flavor from the very first sip, with the chocolate’s richness lingering in the mouth, perfectly balancing the heaviness of the coffee. The Chocolate Latte was smoother and not overly sweet, making it easy to enjoy alongside the pastries. The rich chocolate flavor blended well with the coffee, creating an even more appealing drink.
The pastries we ordered next all boasted a very crispy exterior while being soft on the inside. Each pastry’s unique flavors and aromas harmonized, providing satisfaction with every bite. Personally, I would recommend a few: the Fig Ricotta Spandauer, which featured fresh figs and creamy ricotta cheese; the Chocolate Croissant, which offered a delightful combination of a crispy crust and rich chocolate; and the Monkey Bread, which was coated in sweet cinnamon sugar syrup, providing a crispy yet moist texture that was truly appealing.
