Premium Handroll Experience
Located in Fullerton, ATO Handroll Bar is a place where you can enjoy a variety of handrolls made right in front of you by the chef at the bar table. In addition to handrolls, there are various kitchen menu items and skewers available, allowing for a more diverse dining experience. It’s a great space to enjoy a meal with a nice atmosphere, complemented by sake, beer, or non-alcoholic cocktails.
The handrolls can be enjoyed in a mix and match set of 4, 5, or 6, with miso soup included in all sets. Alternatively, you can also order individual handrolls of your choice. We chose a mix and match set of 5 handrolls and ordered ATO Beef Patty and Salmon Carpaccio from the kitchen menu. For drinks, we selected Iced Green Tea and Yuzu Lemonade to add a refreshing touch.
Among the kitchen menu items, the ATO Beef Patty was a thick patty grilled to perfection, topped with a savory sauce and finely chopped green onions, boasting a simple yet addictive flavor. The contrast between the crispy exterior and the tender interior was delightful, and the harmony with the salty sauce was impressive. The Salmon Carpaccio was elegantly arranged on a bed of shredded cabbage, topped with a refreshing sauce and green onions. It had a light and fresh taste, making it an easy-to-enjoy dish with the crunchy cabbage and soft salmon complementing each other beautifully.
We tried handrolls consisting of Truffle Salmon, Onion Albacore, Magnolia, Blue Crab, and Yuzu Hokkaido Scallop. The Truffle Salmon was a menu item that burst with flavor in just one bite, featuring salmon that melted in the mouth with a deep truffle aroma. The nutty yet subtle truffle scent lingered pleasantly. The Onion Albacore combined the mild flavor of albacore with crunchy onions, creating a refreshing balance overall. The sweetness of the onions was emphasized over their spiciness, allowing for a clean and enjoyable experience. Magnolia featured a combination of two shrimp tempuras and spicy tuna, harmonizing the crispy texture of the tempura with the rich flavor of the spicy tuna. It was a menu item that filled the mouth with a rich texture and taste, with each ingredient balancing well for high satisfaction. The Blue Crab was generously filled with crab meat, and the sweet and moist flavor was impressive with each bite. Simple yet showcasing the natural taste of the ingredients, it was a menu item that kept drawing me back. Finally, the Yuzu Hokkaido Scallop completed the meal with a refreshing and clean finish, enhanced by the subtle yuzu aroma on the plump scallop. It ended the meal on a light note, making it a perfect last bite, and personally, it was my favorite handroll that I would highly recommend.
