Bao Dim Sum House

Hong Kong Style Dim Sum

Bao Dim Sum House is a place where you can taste Hong Kong-style dim sum, making it a great restaurant for family meals or dates. It’s so delicious that I’ve visited several times already. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly spacious, with tables divided by a bar, allowing you to sit wherever you like.

While choosing from the menu, they first brought out the sauces: the red sauce on the left is chili sauce, and the one on the right is mustard sauce. Soy sauce is placed separately on the table, and mixing a bit of mustard into the soy sauce made it perfect for dipping the dim sum.

The dim sum shown in the first photo is Crystal Shrimp Dumplings (Har-Gow), which have shrimp inside a transparent dumpling skin. The large shrimp are juicy, and the dumpling skin is chewy and incredibly delicious. The dim sum in the second photo is Pork and Shrimp Shumai, which contains pork and shrimp, offering a very bouncy texture and a flavor reminiscent of braised meat. These two dishes are ones I order every time I visit because they are so delicious, and I highly recommend them.

The third photo features Juicy Crab & Shrimp Dumplings, which have crab meat and shrimp inside a yellow dumpling skin. I’m not entirely sure, but I felt a taste of pumpkin in the dumpling skin, which might explain its yellow color. Among the menu items, there’s a dish called Juicy Roulette that includes six dim sums of various colors and different fillings, and this yellow dim sum is one of them. If you want to try a variety of flavors, I think it would be great to order the Juicy Roulette.

Finally, the last dim sum I tried was Mini Pan-Fried Pork Soup Dumplings, which come with eight mini dumplings topped with chili oil, making them slightly spicy. These dumplings are generally tasty, but since the previously mentioned dim sums were so delicious, they didn’t feel particularly special.

The soup shown in the third photo is Sizzling Rice Soup with Seafood, which can be thought of as 해물누룽지탕. When the dish is served, the crispy rice is brought separately and added in front of you, making a sizzling sound that whets the appetite. Although it looks like a small portion, it is actually quite generous with plenty of vegetables and seafood. Inside, there are lots of squid and shrimp, and it’s chewy and delicious, so I recommend this menu as well.
