New Modern Cafe in Torrance
The newly opened Cafe Dolce in Torrance is an impressive cafe with a bright and cheerful atmosphere. It was bustling with many customers from the morning, but the spacious interior and comfortably arranged seating allowed for a pleasant stay. Thanks to the natural light streaming in through the large windows, the space felt even warmer, and I was able to enjoy a leisurely time in a casual yet refreshing environment.
Here, you can find a variety of coffee options, teas, and pastries, including Cafe Dolce’s own Specialty Menu. We ordered the Cream Cap Latte, Matcha Smash, Ube Latte, and for dessert, Obang Tteok and Mascarpone Cake.
The Cream Cap Latte was a drink that showcased the harmony of smooth house-made cream and sweet latte. The cream melted lightly, blending naturally with the coffee’s bitterness, and each sip enveloped my mouth in sweet cream, leaving a soft aftertaste. The balance of sweetness and coffee was just right, making it an easy-to-enjoy option. The Matcha Smash was a refreshing drink that stood out for its bright and cool charm. The rich ceremonial-grade matcha combined with homemade mint syrup and lemon created a refreshing aroma with every sip. Although it was my first time trying the combination of matcha and mint, they surprisingly complemented each other well, offering a unique appeal. The balance of sweetness and freshness was excellent, finishing cleanly, making it a great choice for the morning. The Ube Latte caught my eye right from its appearance. The deep purple latte was infused with a nutty and sweet aroma, and with each sip, the unique sweet nuttiness of ube spread smoothly. Its creamy texture was impressive, and it wasn’t overly sweet, allowing me to enjoy it comfortably until the end.
The Obang Tteok we ordered for dessert released a nutty and sweet aroma as soon as it arrived. Taking a bite revealed a chewy texture and nutty flavor that paired well with the coffee, and it was filled with sweet red bean paste inside. The outside was thin and crispy, providing a delightful contrast in texture. It can be chosen in 3pcs or 6pcs, and its bite-sized portions made it easy to enjoy. The Mascarpone Cake was a pastry that looked delicious with its rich brown color. Taking a bite felt like soft castella, while the top was slightly crispy and the inside moist and tender. The subtle sweetness and nuttiness blended together, giving an overall light and clean impression, and when enjoyed with coffee, the soft sweetness was even more pronounced.
