Located in Cypress, Da Vien Coffee is a convenient spot with a drive-thru, allowing you to enjoy drinks quickly and easily even on a busy day. The clean and trendy interior of the store, along with the drive-thru system that lets you order and pick up directly from your car, attracts many visitors. The main reason for my visit this time was to try the newly released Einspanner Matcha Latte. I was excited to hear that Da Vien, which has been loved for its rich Vietnamese coffee and various tea menus, was introducing a new drink combining matcha and whipped cream.
The newly introduced Einspanner Matcha Latte features a smooth Sea Salt cream on top, providing a unique charm from the very first sip. The rich and robust matcha blends well with fresh milk, creating a clean yet deep flavor, while the cream on top is soft and slightly salty, balancing the overall taste. The bitterness of the matcha, the sweetness of the cream, and the umami of the sea salt harmoniously combine, allowing for a variety of flavors to be experienced in one drink.

Da Vien Rosemead Grand Opening
As introduced in the previous post, Da Vien Coffee has opened a new store in Rosemead following its Shanton location. Although it’s a favorite café of mine, I couldn’t visit often due to the distance from my home, so I was thrilled to see a new location nearby. During this visit, I ordered items I hadn’t tried before, including Egg Coffee, Sesame Matcha Latte, Strawberry Milk Matcha, Lychee Jasmine Tea, and Brown Sugar Fresh Milk, allowing me to enjoy a variety of combinations.
Egg Coffee is a drink topped with a smooth egg cream over rich Vietnamese coffee, balancing nuttiness and bitterness nicely. It was a great option to enjoy as a dessert. The Sesame Matcha Latte had a strong nutty flavor from the black sesame, while the unique bitterness of matcha subtly blended in, making it my personal favorite. The Strawberry Milk Matcha combined the sweetness of strawberry milk with the bitterness of matcha in a harmonious layer. It was visually appealing and had a smooth taste, making it easy to enjoy. The Lychee Jasmine Tea had a light and refreshing feel with the subtle aroma of jasmine tea enhanced by the tanginess of lychee, making it especially suitable for summer. The Brown Sugar Fresh Milk combined sweet brown sugar syrup with smooth milk, creating a familiar yet rich sweetness that was appealing, and the chewy boba complemented it well, making it a satisfying drink for those who enjoy rich and sweet flavors.

Da Vien First Drive Thru Location
The newly opened Da Vien Coffee in Shanton is the third location after Westminster and Garden Grove, and it is the first to introduce a drive-thru. Here, they serve traditional Vietnamese coffee made from beans sourced from the Vietnamese highlands, ground fresh daily and brewed using a slow drip method. The addition of sweetened condensed milk creates a deep flavor that balances sweetness, creaminess, and bitterness.
In addition to Vietnamese coffee, there is also a variety of matcha and tea options, making it a space where even those who do not prefer coffee can visit without hesitation. The drive-thru allows for a more convenient way to enjoy drinks tailored to your taste, which is a unique advantage of this location. We ordered Da Vien Coffee, Banana Matcha Latte, Coconut Matcha, and Ube Matcha Latte from the diverse menu. I was excited to see how each drink would showcase its unique charm, especially the menu items that creatively combine Vietnamese coffee and matcha.
First, the Da Vien Coffee was a drink that combined deep, rich Vietnamese coffee with macchiato cream and cocoa powder. The first sip delivered the distinct bitterness and heavy body characteristic of traditional Vietnamese coffee, and the macchiato cream on top provided a smoother, creamier texture overall. The cocoa powder added a subtle chocolate aroma rather than emphasizing bitterness, blending naturally with the coffee, resulting in a satisfying overall balance.
Next, I compared three different matcha menus, and even though they all had the same matcha base, each combination with the cream definitely had its own unique character. The Banana Matcha Latte was characterized by the banana cream that gently enveloped the rich, bitter taste of matcha. The richness combined with the natural sweetness and creamy texture of the banana created a harmonious blend with the matcha. The Coconut Matcha was the lightest and most refreshing of the three. With coconut juice as the base, it was more refreshing than a latte with milk, and the matcha cream on top added a smooth finish. The bitterness of the matcha and the sweet flavor of the coconut blended naturally, making it a great combination for days when you want something lighter rather than a heavy latte. The Ube Matcha Latte was the richest and sweetest combination of the three. The ube cream on top of the bitterness of the matcha added a subtle sweetness and nutty flavor, creating a deeper overall taste. The unique savory sweetness of ube paired well with the matcha, making it suitable for those who enjoy a slightly sweeter matcha latte.
