Desert View Drive
After finishing the Antelope Canyon tour, we moved to Horseshoe Bend, which is located about 15 minutes away. Horseshoe Bend is a famous natural landscape near Page, Arizona, where the Colorado River flows in a massive U-shape. Its unique shape makes it a popular spot for many tourists.
We paid a parking fee of $35 at the entrance and had to walk about 20 minutes to reach Horseshoe Bend, with advice to bring water. While I didn’t feel it was that hot during the Antelope Canyon tour, the sunlight was incredibly intense and hot when we arrived here. I walked to Horseshoe Bend with water, and it took about 15 minutes, but it was so hot that there were shaded areas set up along the way for resting.
Upon arriving at the destination and getting closer to the edge, I looked down to see the Horseshoe Bend below, a deep and vast canyon that I had only seen in photos. It was truly magnificent and felt almost unreal. Since there are hardly any railings here, one must be particularly careful when taking photos or enjoying the view at the edge of the cliff. Looking down was so dizzying that I was really scared while taking pictures, but I was thrilled to capture the stunning Horseshoe Bend against the blue sky. Seeing the Colorado River, which I had spotted from the Grand Canyon, up close at Horseshoe Bend was incredibly beautiful and allowed me to feel the grandeur of nature once again.
Horseshoe Bend
Horseshoe Bend, where I could personally experience the beauty and majesty of nature, is definitely a place worth visiting when in Arizona. Next up is a post about Bryce Canyon, the next destination in the Grand Circle trip.
