Hawaiian Inspired Superfood Cafe
Island Bodega, newly opened in Westminster, is a superfood cafe inspired by Hawaii, specializing in fresh acai bowls. Created with the goal of allowing customers to easily consume the necessary antioxidants, nutrients, and vitamins in a day, this place offers a space to enjoy a healthy yet delicious meal. Located near the beach and within the newly established H Mart plaza, it boasts excellent accessibility. With a casual yet trendy atmosphere, it is an attractive spot for both locals and visitors to enjoy healthy food.
During this visit, I customized the signature acai bowl at Island Bodega to my liking. I chose Blue Island, Coconut Cream, Mango, and Passion Fruit as the base, allowing me to enjoy the refreshing taste of tropical fruits along with a creamy flavor. I was able to complete my own bowl by adding my desired toppings, and the sizes were divided into Small, Medium, and Large, making it easy to choose according to the situation and personal preference.
I tried the acai bowls with two different bases: one with a combination of Blue Island and Coconut Cream, which was refreshing with a creamy smoothness, and the other with a Mango and Passion Fruit base, which had a vibrant tropical fruit flavor. Moreover, the colorful presentation added to the visual satisfaction even before I started eating. For toppings, I chose fruits like strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and kiwis to enhance freshness, along with a variety of additions like granola, chia pudding, powders, and nut butter. Among them, the cocoa chia pudding was particularly impressive; I usually don’t enjoy chia pudding much, but the rich chocolate flavor made it especially delicious this time. Additionally, the honey almond granola and toasted coconut added a crunchy texture that complemented the base well. Finally, the almond butter and honey provided a nutty flavor and subtle sweetness, allowing me to experience a balanced mix of tastes and textures in one bowl.
