Kumquat Coffee

Variety of Global Beans and Teas

I was curious about the coffee at Kumquat Coffee since I heard it was branded from Loquat Coffee, which I had visited before, so I decided to check it out.

Kumquat Coffee has locations in Highland Park and DTLA, and we visited the one in Highland Park. Although we didn’t have to wait in line, customers kept coming in while we waited for our coffee, and the patio outside was packed, showing how popular this place is. The café was filled with various coffees and merchandise, making it fun to explore.

We ordered three different coffees, and the first one in the photo is called Cloudy. Cloudy is made with Espresso + Peanut Butter Foam + Cold Milk and is served in a slightly smaller cup than the other two coffees. I was curious about the taste with peanut butter foam, and at first, I didn’t really taste the peanut butter, but as I drank more, the rich peanut flavor blended with the coffee created a unique taste. The combination of peanut and coffee was refreshing, and it seems like an attractive drink for those who enjoy savory flavors.

The second photo shows the Hojicha Latte, which allows you to choose the sweetness level: Sweet / Half-Sweet / Unsweet. My brother chose this menu and ordered it Sweet, but surprisingly, it wasn’t too sweet for my taste, which doesn’t favor overly sweet things. The nutty flavor combined with the unique umami of hojicha blended well with the milk, creating a smooth taste.

The last coffee in the third photo is the Kumquat Tonic, which can be made with either Espresso or Matcha and includes Tonic Syrup and Sparkling Water. We chose Espresso, and the carbonation of the tonic water combined with the rich flavor of the espresso created a refreshing and unique taste.
