Located in Marina del Rey, Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill offers a casual and comfortable atmosphere to enjoy light Mexican-style dishes. It’s a great place to stop by for a meal without any pressure, perfect for takeout or sharing with friends.
During this visit, we ordered the Wagyu Smashburger Taco, Nachos Grande, Sharky’s Chicken Salad, and for dessert, the OMFG Cookie and The Double Double Cookie. The Wagyu Smashburger Taco is a menu item that feels like a blend of a burger and a taco, with the flavor of the meat and a tender texture at its core. It has an overall familiar burger feel, yet the lightness brought by the tortilla is impressive, showing a good balance that makes it easy to enjoy. There is a sauce bar in the restaurant where you can grab various sauces according to your taste, and it was also impressive that you could adjust the flavors based on your preferred combinations with the tacos.
We ordered the Nachos Grande with added chicken breast and black beans, and it was an overwhelming dish from the size and visuals. The nachos, piled generously on a large plate, looked abundant at first glance, and the various toppings made it even more appetizing. The chips, subtly infused with lime, were topped evenly with various ingredients, allowing for different combinations in every bite, creating a rich layering of flavors overall. It was a great dish to share among several people, naturally becoming the centerpiece of the table.
Sharky’s Chicken Salad was centered around romaine and chicken, with the addition of mandarin oranges providing a refreshing touch. It was light enough to enjoy casually yet substantial enough for a meal, balancing well among the other menu items. The OMFG Cookie and The Double Double Cookie we ordered for dessert were perfect for a light post-meal treat, with a slightly crispy exterior and a soft texture inside. The OMFG Cookie was centered around a rich sweetness, while The Double Double Cookie showcased a deeper flavor with the combination of chocolate and peanut butter. They were not overly heavy but provided just the right amount of sweetness to naturally wrap up the entire meal.

Overall, you can continue your meal in a light and comfortable atmosphere, and the menu composition is balanced without leaning too much in one direction. It was also impressive that you could adjust the flavors according to your preferences using the sauce bar, and there was a fun aspect of creating different combinations while enjoying various dishes together.
