In this post, I would like to introduce Starbread Bakery, a Filipino bakery famous for its Señorita Bread. The warm aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air, and you can enjoy a variety of Filipino-style bakery items. In particular, the signature item, Señorita Bread, is loved by many for its soft and sweet flavor.
We chose Señorita Bread along with Malasada Donut, Mochi Donut, and Pandan Squares. While selecting the bread, many customers came and went, and seeing most of them order Señorita Bread made it clear just how popular this item is.
First, the highly anticipated Señorita Bread lived up to its reputation as the signature item, with sweet and slightly salty butter seeping into the soft bread. Taking a bite of the freshly baked bread felt like it was melting in my mouth, and its charm is amplified when eaten warm. I recommend warming it slightly before eating. Once you taste it, you’ll find it hard to resist going back for more, making it a must-try for anyone who loves sweet bread. The Malasada Donut had a crispy exterior and a chewy texture inside. The outside was lightly dusted with sugar, providing a basic sweetness, and it had various fillings to choose from based on personal preference. We tried six different fillings, and among them, Ube Cream and Cream Cheese were particularly delicious.
The Mochi Donut had a delightful chewy texture unique to glutinous rice donuts. It was chewier than regular donuts, and the slightly sweet flavor lingered in the mouth for a long time. It was not greasy, making it easy to enjoy, and thanks to its texture, even one was quite satisfying. The Pandan Squares were a sweet cake with a subtle pandan aroma, impressively moist and soft. Before tasting, I was curious about the flavor due to its deep green color, but upon taking a bite, I was pleasantly surprised by its softness. Overall, it had a texture similar to muffins, and the moderate sweetness combined with the unique pandan flavor made it a delightful treat to enjoy without any heaviness.
