Asian-Inspired Coffee Stand
In this post, I would like to introduce Burlington Arcade located in Pasadena, where you can feel as if you are in London. Burlington Arcade was built in 1980 and is said to be modeled after the famous shopping mall established in London in 1819.
Burlington Arcade has about 10 shops, including a café, flower shop, nail salon, and clothing store. Most of the stores are small, so many people were enjoying coffee or chatting at the tables in the center.
We went to the famous Mandarin Coffee Stand in Burlington Arcade for coffee, and I was surprised to see a long line of people waiting in front of the café. The inside of the café is small, so you have to go in one by one to place your order, and we waited about 15 minutes to order.
After pondering what to eat, we ordered the Toasty and Pineapple Espresso Tonic from the signature menu. It’s worth noting that if you order the Toasty iced, it will only be made with oat milk. The cinnamon powder sprinkled on top enhanced the nutty flavor of the coffee, making it taste even richer with each sip. The Pineapple Espresso Tonic contains house-made pineapple jam, which might explain why the pineapple flavor was quite strong. It felt more like drinking a pineapple beverage than coffee. This is a menu that even those who don’t usually enjoy coffee might want to try.
