Garlic-Stuffed Option and Diverse Cream Shmears

Located in Koreatown, Calic Bagel is a place where you can enjoy everything from the Signature Calic filled with garlic butter and garlic cream cheese to a variety of bagel sandwiches and cream cheeses. When I arrived early in the morning, there was already a long line of people eager to taste the bagels, and I’ve heard that the Stuffed Bagels sell out quickly, so it’s best to arrive early if you want to try them.

We ordered the Signature Calic and LA Lox from the various menu options, along with Calic Tots as a side, and the basic bagels Jalapeno Cheddar and Everything, with cream cheeses of Scallion, Blueberry, and Jeju Hallabong.

First, the Signature Calic was freshly made and warm, with a rich and fragrant garlic aroma that filled the air. With the first bite, I could taste the chewy texture of the bagel, the salty flavor of the cream cheese, and the richness of the garlic all at once. Next, the LA Lox was a perfect match with the smoked salmon and Scallion Cream Cheese, enhanced by the crunchy texture of the pickled onions and cucumbers on top, which whetted my appetite. The Calic Tots we ordered as a side were crispy fries that came together with garlic butter, and the combination was so delightful that I found myself wanting to eat more. I thought I would have leftovers because of the large portion, but it was so delicious that we finished it in no time, so I highly recommend it.

Next, the basic bagels, Jalapeno Cheddar and Everything, are ones I always buy whenever I visit Calic Bagel. The Jalapeno Cheddar has a rich nuttiness from the cheddar cheese that pairs very well with the spiciness of the jalapeno pieces, while the Everything bagel truly has every flavor, allowing for a rich taste experience with its variety of ingredients.

Additionally, there are various cream cheeses that can enhance the flavor of the bagels, among which I particularly enjoy the Scallion Cream Cheese with its subtle onion aroma, the Blueberry Cream Cheese bursting with freshness, and the Jeju Hallabong Cream Cheese that combines the unique fragrance and sweetness of Hallabong. There are many other cream cheeses available, so it would be great to try them according to your preference.
