Handmade Bagels and Sandwiches
Located in Burbank, Hank’s Bagels is a bagel shop where you can enjoy a variety of handmade bagels, sandwiches, spreads, and salads.
Hank’s Bagels has locations in Burbank, Sherman Oaks, and Calabasas, and we visited the one in Burbank. The bagel shop is relatively small inside, so you can only place orders inside and pick them up outside, where several tables are set up in the front and back. We tried the Number 3 and Number 7 bagel sandwiches, as well as the Egg Salad.
First, the Number 3 is a bagel sandwich with smoked salmon, featuring fresh and diverse ingredients like sprouts, tomatoes, radishes, pickles, and onions that harmonize beautifully. Each ingredient complements the others well, resulting in a clean and rich flavor. We chose the Rosemary Bagel for this sandwich, and the subtle rosemary aroma blended naturally. The Number 7 is a bagel sandwich with Soppressata salami and fontina cheese, offering a nice salty flavor while allowing the nuttiness of the cheese to shine through, complemented by fresh vegetables and crunchy pickled peppers. We opted for the Onion Bagel, which added a rich flavor with its roasted onion scent, pairing well with the salami and cheese. The pickled peppers in this sandwich are spicier than expected, so if you enjoy spicy flavors, I would recommend this sandwich. It’s worth noting that the bagels feel denser than others, likely due to the generous fillings.
Finally, the Egg Salad is a classic menu item that stands out for its smooth and creamy texture, providing a simple yet satisfying taste. It pairs well as a side with the bagel sandwiches, and there are also Potato and Chicken salads available, so you can choose according to your preference.
