Vietnamese Eatery with Hot Stone Pho
Hot Stone Pho, located in Garden Grove, is a place where you can enjoy rice noodles served in a hot stone bowl, just as the name suggests. In addition to rice noodles, you can also taste a variety of Vietnamese dishes, making it a great spot for a hearty meal.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the signature menu item, Hot Stone Special. In addition to the rice noodles served in a hot stone bowl, we wanted to try some unique Vietnamese dishes, so we chose Saltado Shaken Fries, Shaken Beef Macaroni, Sizzling Steak & Egg, Spring Roll, and Egg Rolls. For drinks, we opted for the refreshing Passion Fruit Green Tea and the sweet Peach Milk Tea to enjoy alongside our meal.
First, the Saltado Shaken Fries is a dish that features stir-fried beef served with French fries, where the tender texture of the meat blends well with the crispiness of the fries. The savory sauce seeps in, enhancing the umami flavor, and with each bite, a rich and nutty taste spreads. The Shaken Beef Macaroni is a macaroni dish accompanied by stir-fried beef, onions, and bell peppers, where the tenderness of the meat and the crunchiness of the vegetables harmonize beautifully. The chewy macaroni absorbs the savory sauce well, making it a light yet satisfying meal. These two dishes are not overly salty, allowing for guilt-free enjoyment while still being addictive and full of flavor, so I highly recommend them.
The Sizzling Steak & Egg is a platter served with beef, Vietnamese ham, and pâté, presented sizzling hot, adding to the visual appeal. The moist texture of the meat and the chewy texture of the Vietnamese ham create a delightful harmony, while the rich pâté adds depth to the flavor. You can spread the pâté on the accompanying crispy baguette (bánh mì) or enjoy it with the meat for an even richer taste. Paired with a fresh salad, it made for a satisfying and balanced meal.
The Hot Stone Special features a generous serving of rice noodles topped with ribeye, brisket, beef balls, tendon, and tripe, allowing you to enjoy various cuts of meat all at once. Served in a hot stone bowl, the broth stays warm until the last bite, maintaining its deep flavor, and the different textures of each meat cut create a delightful variety in every bite. Additionally, the Hot Stone menu includes options like Short Ribs and Oxtail, so you can choose according to your preference.
