Hawaiian Style Poke Bowl
If you’re visiting Redondo Beach, you must check out Jus’ Poke, a restaurant where you can taste Hawaiian-style poke.

Jus’ Poke offers poke in Regular and Large sizes, and you can choose your poke, rice, and sides. We opted for two Regular-sized pokes: Original, Shoyu, Local’s Wasabi, and California Roll poke, along with brown rice, Seaweed Salad, and Pickled Cucumbers.

First, the Original, which allowed us to experience the most basic flavor, included green onions and sweet onions, adding a refreshing crunch and letting us enjoy the natural taste of the ingredients. The Shoyu added soy sauce to the original, making it saltier and richer in umami than the original. The Local’s Wasabi featured a sharp wasabi added to the Shoyu poke, creating a unique and appealing flavor with a slight spiciness and saltiness. Finally, the California Roll tasted just like a California roll transferred directly into poke; it was creamy and smooth, with a delightful mix of flavors from the various ingredients.
The Seaweed Salad and Pickled Cucumbers we chose as sides paired well with the poke. The Seaweed Salad had a soft yet slightly crunchy texture typical of seaweed, and it was pleasantly salty without being overly seasoned. The Pickled Cucumbers offered a sweet and sour taste, with a harmonious balance of acidity and sweetness.
