Korean-Style Jumbo Pork Cutlet
Recently, a restaurant called Lasung Wang Donkatsu opened in Koreatown, and I wanted to visit it. However, every time I passed by, the waiting line was long, so I hesitated to go. Finally, I decided to visit during what I thought would be the least busy early dinner time.

We arrived around 4:30 PM, and the restaurant was packed with customers. We wrote our names on the waiting list and waited a moment before being shown to our seats.

The menu had various options besides donkatsu, and we ordered the jumbo donkatsu, seafood cream pasta, and drinks: pumpkin sikhye and slushy sikhye. First, the pumpkin sikhye and slushy sikhye arrived. The pumpkin sikhye had a stronger pumpkin aroma than expected, was moderately sweet, and had a slightly thick texture. The slushy sikhye was true to its basic flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. The jumbo donkatsu that followed was noticeably large, served with rice, salad, and macaroni. It sliced very smoothly, and the outer breadcrumbs were crispy while the inside was very tender, embodying the perfect combination of crispy outside and juicy inside that is characteristic of Korean-style donkatsu.
The seafood cream pasta was different from the usual thick cream pasta I’m used to; it had a suitable amount of cream with an added oiliness, creating a flavor reminiscent of a mix between cream pasta and aglio e olio. It was rich enough to enjoy without leaving any behind.
