Luv Dduk

Korean Eatery with Spicy Tteokbokki

Located in Cerritos, Luv Dduk is a place that showcases a variety of Korean fusion dishes centered around spicy tteokbokki, making it perfect for sharing with friends due to its generous portions. Not only is there a wide array of tteokbokki, but also a rich selection of side dishes, allowing visitors to enjoy diverse flavors in one visit.

We visited right at opening time on Saturday, and the restaurant was already bustling with many guests. When we finished our meal and stepped outside, we saw a long line of people waiting, which made us realize the popularity of this place. Among the various menu items, we ordered Spicy Chicken Tteokbokki, Giant Chicken Katsu, and Bulgogi Cheese Fries, and we couldn’t help but be amazed by the overwhelming visuals and generous portions of the food that arrived.

First up was the Spicy Chicken Tteokbokki, which is the main menu item here. As the name suggests, it includes chicken and rice cakes, and we added Giant Short Ribs, ramen, and cheese for an even heartier experience. The rich sauce was well absorbed by the chewy rice cakes and tender chicken, and the addition of ramen and cheese created a nice balance of spicy and savory flavors. The Giant Short Ribs were particularly juicy and tender, complementing the tteokbokki sauce beautifully, making it an irresistible combination. Since we are not great with spice, we opted for the Regular Spicy flavor at Level 1, which was just right—not too overwhelming and pleasantly spicy. If you prefer a stronger kick, there’s also the Level 2 Pretty Spicy option to choose from.

Next, we tried the Giant Chicken Katsu, which, as seen in the photos, is much larger than an adult man’s outstretched arms and comes served with tonkatsu sauce, curry, and rice. The crispy fried katsu had a crunchy exterior and a thick, moist interior, and when paired with the sweet tonkatsu sauce and rich curry, it enhanced the umami flavor even more. The generous portion was enough for several people to share. The Bulgogi Cheese Fries featured crispy fries topped generously with bulgogi and cheese, creating a delightful combination of salty and savory flavors. The bulgogi was well-marinated with a sweet sauce, pairing nicely with the fries, while the melted cheese added a creamy texture overall. Again, the portion was ample, making it a satisfying side dish.
