Fruit Tea Series
This is my second visit to Mixue in Hollywood, a space where you can casually enjoy a variety of drinks in a bright and casual atmosphere. It was a lively place, with people continuously coming in right after it opened, and many visitors were enjoying their drinks as takeout. During this visit, I tried the newly launched Fruit Tea Series, which includes Peach Oolong Tea, Passion Blast, and Peach Mango Jasmine, along with the Grape with Taro Balls that I already loved. Overall, each ingredient and flavor was distinctly highlighted while maintaining its unique character, and I was impressed by how each menu item led to a different vibe.

Peach Oolong Tea beautifully blended the subtle sweetness of peach with the clean flavor of oolong tea, while Passion Blast was refreshing, centered around the unique tartness of passion fruit. Peach Mango Jasmine combined the fruity flavors of peach and mango with the aroma of jasmine tea, making it smooth and light to drink. Grape with Taro Balls remained one of the most impressive menu items, with the rich flavor of grape and the chewy texture of taro balls coming together perfectly, making it enjoyable like a dessert.
This Fruit Tea Series was impressive in that it offered a different way to enjoy the flavors of fruit compared to the existing menu. Each ingredient was distinctly felt, yet the overall experience was not heavy, and the sweetness could be adjusted to suit personal preferences. Especially in hot weather, these drinks were refreshing and well-suited for the summer season. Mixue is a casual space where you can enjoy a variety of drinks without pressure, and with the addition of the new Fruit Tea Series alongside the popular existing menu, the options have broadened, making it a place to consider when you want to enjoy a light and refreshing drink in Hollywood.
U.S. First Store Grand Opening
MIXUE, which is set to open on Hollywood Blvd, is a global tea & dessert brand operating thousands of stores worldwide. This Hollywood location is particularly significant as it is MIXUE’s first store in the U.S. It marks the brand’s official entry into the American market after rapidly growing primarily in Asia for a long time. With reasonable pricing and accessible menu options, it has garnered local interest even before its opening.

During this preview visit before the opening, I was able to taste a variety of signature menu items, including MIXUE Soft Serve, Fresh Lemonade, Orange Punch, Coconut Jelly Milk Tea, and Grape Taro Ball. The overall impression was that the ‘value for money’ was high. Each menu item was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy, making it a great idea to stop by and order several items together.

MIXUE Soft Serve was an ice cream centered around a smooth and clean milk base. Its light texture and moderate sweetness made it enjoyable for everyone, and its simple yet faithful flavor was impressive. The Fresh Lemonade and Orange Punch were menus focused on freshness, with the fruit’s acidity clearly pronounced, making them particularly suitable for hot weather. The sweetness was not overpowering, leaving a clean aftertaste that was refreshing to enjoy. Personally, the most impressive items were the Coconut Jelly Milk Tea and Grape Taro Ball. The Coconut Jelly Milk Tea featured a smooth milk tea combined with coconut jelly, adding a fun texture to the dish, and the overall balance was good. The Grape Taro Ball combined a rich grape flavor with chewy taro balls, providing a satisfaction closer to dessert than a drink. It was a menu that naturally kept drawing me back.
Mixue
Overall, MIXUE offered drinks and desserts that could be enjoyed lightly at reasonable prices, showcasing a stable flavor balance typical of a global brand. With the symbolism of being the first store in the U.S., it was an exciting start to see how it would be received locally.
