Specialty Coffee & Dessert
Located in Northridge, RE: COFFEE is one of the popular cafes where you can find a variety of coffee types, drinks, and desserts. We visited around noon on a Sunday, and the cafe was already packed with people, which really showed its popularity.
We chose the Einspanner Black and Matcha Einspanner from the Signatures menu, along with the summer seasonal menu items Strawberry Cream Top, and for dessert, Cookie Croissant and Lotus New York Croissant. There were only a few pastries left that day, and according to the staff, they sell out quickly due to their popularity, so it might be a good idea to visit early if you want to try the pastries.
The first drink we tried, Einspanner Black, features a layer of homemade whipped cream on top of an Americano, creating a luxurious feel with the thick cream layer and coffee bean decoration against the rich coffee color. The bitter taste of the Americano blended beautifully with the nutty and smooth flavor of the whipped cream, providing a delightful balance. I would recommend this Einspanner Black for days when a latte feels too heavy or when you want to enjoy a special Americano. Next, the Matcha Einspanner offered a deep flavor and rich aroma of matcha that filled my mouth with the first sip. The combination of milk and cream made it smooth without being overly sweet, making it a great pairing with desserts. Lastly, the Strawberry Cream Top caught my eye with its beautiful strawberry milk color even before tasting it. As someone who loves strawberries, this drink was right up my alley. Its moderate sweetness combined with the refreshing taste of strawberries would make it very appealing to those who don’t usually drink coffee.
Next, the Cookie Croissant and Lotus New York Croissant had a cute visual and a crispy-looking exterior that made them look delicious at first glance, and they indeed delivered a special taste as expected. The Cookie Croissant allowed me to enjoy both the crispy and nutty flavor of the croissant and the soft, sweet taste of the cookie, providing a variety of textures. The Lotus New York Croissant featured Lotus cream added to the croissant, allowing for a sweet and rich flavor with every bite.
