Fresh Poke Bowl with Diverse Toppings
Poke Bar, located in North Hollywood, is a place where you can create your own poke bowl using fresh ingredients and a variety of toppings. This establishment combines traditional sushi with Hawaiian-style poke, offering a modern fast-casual dining experience. Their goal is to provide fresh fish, premium sauces, and top-quality ingredients quickly, conveniently, and most importantly, deliciously every day.
We visited the North Hollywood location, but Poke Bar operates several locations throughout California, allowing you to enjoy fresh poke regardless of your area. During this visit, we ordered a medium-sized poke bowl along with the poke burritos, Original Salmon Burrito and Dragon Burrito, and chose Thai Tea as our drink.
The poke bowls come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, with options for 2 Scoops, 3 Scoops, or 4 Scoops of protein. You start by choosing a base from rice, noodles, salad, or tortilla chips, then add your protein and desired toppings and sauces to complete your custom poke bowl. I chose salad as my base and selected Salmon, Albacore, and Tuna for my protein. After adding various toppings, I finished it off with House Dressing. The fresh seafood and crunchy salad created a light yet satisfying meal. The House Dressing added just the right umami flavor while enhancing the natural taste of the ingredients, resulting in a well-balanced flavor that wasn’t overwhelming. The variety of toppings also added a rich texture. Overall, it was a clean and enjoyable meal that was easy to eat, and I think it would be fun to try different combinations by changing the base or sauce according to personal preference.

The Original Salmon Burrito is a poke burrito based on salmon, offering a balanced flavor with fresh ingredients and savory sauces. The eel sauce and spicy mayo add deep flavors, while the creamy avocado and edamame provide a delightful texture. The Dragon Burrito features a standout combination of shrimp and spicy tuna. The plump shrimp and spicy tuna harmonize well, with fresh vegetables adding a crunchy texture. The umami of the eel sauce balances the overall dish, making each bite a delightful mix of textures and flavors. Both burritos are convenient and hearty options, perfect for those looking to enjoy poke in a unique way.
